How to get there

By car

Drive to Hallostrasse 50, 45141 Essen

(51°28'39.1"N 7°02'49.0"E)

 

From the south (for example, via Frankfurt and Cologne)

• A3 motorway to motorway interchange Breitscheid
• Exit on A52 towards Essen
• On the A52 take exit 29 "Essen-Süd"
• Exit automatically leads to Richard-Wagner-Straße
• Follow the street Richard-Wagner-Street (later renamed to Helbingstraße, Bernestraße, Schützenbahn, Stoppenberger Straße).
• After about 5 km follow Stoppenberger Straße . For this purpose, slightly turn right (500 m after a small railway underpass)
• Follow the road further (it becomes Essenerstraße)
• After about 1 km turn right into the Hallostraße.
• After about 500 m turn to the stadium / parking lot right.

 

From North

• A3 motorway to motorway intersection Oberhausen
• Remain on the road which becomes A516 highway
• Follow the A516 until  exit A42 towards Dortmund
• Follow A42 till junction 12, turn direction "Essen"
• Exit on A52 towards Essen, you will be automatically redirected to the Gladbeckerstraße
• Follow Gladbeckerstraße for 3.8 km
• Turn left onto Grillostraße towards "Gelsenkirchen / Katernberg / Stoppenberg"
• After about 1 km turn left into Straße stop.
• Follow the road (becomes Essener Straße)
• After about 1 km turn right into the Hallostraße
• After about 500 m turn to the stadium / parking lot right.

 

 

 

By train

• trains via www.bahn.de

• ride a train to Essen Central Station
• Follow the signs with the white U on blue background to take the subway 107 in direction to Gelsenkirchen Hbf (abbreviation for Hauptbahnhof).
• Get out after 7 stops at Ernestinenstr. Walk into Hallostraße and follow the street signs to the stadium. Walking distance is around 5 minutes from the stop to the stadium.

 

By plane

Close to Essen there are several international airports:

 

• Dortmund Airport

• • From Dortmund airport there is the bus "Airport Express" which goes to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (central station). From Dortmund Hauptbahnhof there are regular trains to the main station Essen.

 

• Dusseldorf Airport
  • The Dusseldorf airport is connected to a railway station with frequent trains to the main station Essen.

 

• Weeze Airport
  • From Weeze Airport there is a bus which goes to the Central Station Essen. A pre-reservation is necessary for the this bus ride.

 

• Cologne / Bonn Airport
  • The Cologne / Bonn airport is connected to a train station with regular trains to Essen main station. Most with a change at Cologne Central Station.
