21.07.2016 - Thank you very much for taking part

Dear athletes, dear spectators,

the 6th Retrorunning World Championship ended on Sunday afternoon. We want to thank all participants very much for this world championship. Organizing such an event was new for all of us and we are overwhelmed by the positive feedback that we have received and still receive. We are extremely happy that our effort was worth it. You have supported us a lot with your cheerfulness and patience and you have therefore contributed significantly to the success of this world championship. Also, the sporting fair play among each other was once again outstanding. This world championship had a large media response, and thus we hope that we were able to reach a large number of people beyond our community with our sport.

We would be happy to see you again at the next world championship in Dublin, 2018 – and of course at other occasions.

The results list is now online on the results page.

Thank you! Grazie mille! Merci beaucoup! Muchas gracias! Moltes gràcies! Dziękuję Ci bardzo! Herzlichen Dank!

28.06.2016 - Leg amputee to set world records at the World Championship

For the first time, an athlete with amputee legs will compete at a Retrorunning World Championship. Dwayne Fernandes (31) from Australia had both his legs replaced with prosthetic limbs at the age of 11 years. Nevertheless, he took part in several high-class stair climb runs, including the Empire State Building Run-Up in New York, and has set up several world records. Now, Dwayne will also start in Essen und will thus be the first leg amputee who will take part at a Retrorunning World Championship. World records are to be expected.
