6. IRR RetroRunning World Championships – Event Announcement [1]

 

Dear Runners,

 

The 1. RetroRunning-Club Deutschland e.V. invites you to the sixth World Championship in RetroRunning.

Thursday, July 14, 2016 - Sunday, July 17, 2016

Essen - Stoppenberg, Sportpark am Hallo. Ernestinenstr. 57, 45141 Essen, Germany.

 

Competition Office

The race office is located at Sportpark am Hallo.

Route

All running events up to and including 10000 m take place on the 400 m running track at the Sportpark am Hallo. The race track of the half marathon will be on the compound of the Zeche Zollverein.

 

Catering

During the 5000m and 10000m competitions water will be offered. During the half marathon water and energy bars / bananas will be handed to the runners.

 

Various food and drink stands offer their products at Sportpark am Hallo.

 

Changing rooms and showers

Changing rooms and showers are available at Sportpark am Hallo. Luggage storage is not offered.

 

Age classes

The following age classes are offered: Main class (m / f) (born 1977 and after), Masters 1 (born 1962 - 1976), Masters 2 (born 1961 and before). On routes up to 400m, there is also youth (m / f) (born 1998 and after).

 

Relays

 - The organizer reserves the right to limit the number of relay teams per country.

 - The organizer reserves the right to schedule heats in the relays.

 - Participants of the relays do not need to have participated in the individual races.

 

Registration

Each participant can take part in up to 3 individual events (100m-10000m). In addition, each participant can take part in the relay events, as well as the half marathon.

 

Registering can only be done via online registrations at Retrorunning2016.com. The entry fee must be paid within 14 days of registration. The registration is only considered complete when the registration fee has been paid and the organizer has confirmed the payment.

 

A starting list will be published on Retrorunning2016.com and regularly updated. Every participant listed there is deemed registered.

Will be communicated as soon as the registration is activated.

 

Awards

The three best in each category and discipline obtain medals. Other awards, certificates and possible prizes are determined by the organizer.

 

Timing

Timing will be done electronically.

 

Travel and Accommodation

Information concerning travel and accommodation can be found on the website Retrorunning2016.com.

 

Parking

The stadium at Sportpark am Hallo has a large number of parking spaces. Please use them. If the parking lot is full, please use the surrounding parking lots.

 

Liability / Conditions

Running backwards can be dangerous. The organizer strongly recommends that participants wear the protective equipment as recommended in the Competition Rules.

 

The organizer is not liable for any health or safety risks taken by the participant. The participant confirms with his/her registration that he/she is healthy enough to participate, and has consulted a doctor if necessary. Participants are responsible for their own health and any potential health risks of participation.

 

In cases of force majeure (eg. storm, terrorist threat, fire) the organizer is entitled or even obliged to make changes in the production of the event or to cancel the event, for safety reasons or to comply with official orders. In that case participants are not entitled to reimbursement of participation fees or any other claims to compensation.

 

Furthermore, the provisions of the Competition Rules and Conditions of Participation apply.

 

The organizer is not liable for lost (value) items.
